Travel Information
Before you travel to Uganda, it's important to be aware of some key information. Visas are required for most nationalities and can be obtained online or upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport. Consult the Ugandan embassy in your country or visit the Uganda Immigration website for the most up-to-date information.
The official languages are English and Swahili, but many local languages are also spoken. The Ugandan shilling (UGX) is the local currency, and US dollars are widely accepted. Credit cards are accepted in major hotels and restaurants, but it's advisable to carry cash for smaller establishments and rural areas.
Uganda has a tropical climate with two rainy seasons (March-May and September-November) and two dry seasons (December-February and June-August). The best time to visit depends on your interests, but generally, the dry seasons are ideal for wildlife viewing.
